Doha: The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the targeting of the East-West Pipeline in the Riyadh and Madinah Al-Munawwarah regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by several drones originating from the Republic of Iraq, and the resulting human injuries and material damages.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that targeting civilian and economic facilities constitutes a condemnable act and a flagrant violation of international law, and a dangerous escalation that undermines the security and stability of the region.
In this context, it commended the responsible approach adopted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the Iraqi government's efforts to prevent the use of its territories to aggress against the Kingdom and neighboring countries.
The Ministry expressed the State of Qatar's full solidarity with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its support for all measures it takes to protect its sovereignty, security, and facilities.
