Doha: Around 400 contenders — both citizens and residents (male and female) — have participated in the first day examinations within the 27th session of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Competition for 2022. The competition started on Saturday.

The competitors are participating by memorising one chapter from the last five chapters of the Quran.

Member of the contest’s organising committee Jassim Abdullah Al Ali said that roughly 18 committees are supervising the examinations for the male contenders in Imam Muhammad bin AbdulWahhab Mosque. While 11 supervising committees are conducting the examinations for the female contenders in the headquarters of the women’s Quran memorisation department in Al Waab area.

He said the examinations of the children’s segment will continue until Thursday, while the examinations for other  categories will begin on Tuesday and continue until Sunday.

The committee has allocated financial awards for the winners of the competition.
