Kuwait City: Kuwait's Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that the State Security Service had foiled a "terrorist" plot targeting a vital facility in the country, adding that a Kuwaiti citizen was arrested before carrying out the plot following extensive security surveillance and monitoring.
The ministry said in a statement that investigations revealed the suspect had received training in manufacturing explosives and drones and had built a drone with the intention of using it to carry out his terrorist plot and target a vital facility.
It added that the necessary legal measures had been taken against the suspect and that he had been referred to the competent authority to complete investigations and take the necessary action in accordance with the law.
The ministry affirmed that its security agencies would continue their proactive efforts to detect and counter any activities or plots that could threaten the country's security and stability, stressing that it would deal firmly with any suspicious activities in accordance with the law.
