The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning yesterday conducted an inspection at the streets 42, 47 and 53 in Industrial Area with an intention to catch street vendors if found violating norms.
A number of security forces including Rescue Police (Al Fazaa) and Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) also took part in the campaign in coordination with the competent authority at the ministry.
Some 38 tonnes of remnants of different materials left behind, said the Ministry in a statement yesterday.
The ministry has also assured that it will continue its regular campaigns to crackdown on the illegal practices of vendors and keep the streets where these practices are prevailing clean.
The Ministry did not report the number of offenders caught or properties seized.
