Doha, Qatar: As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting all segments of society and fostering a culture of inclusion, QIIB has successfully concluded a specialised employee training programme “Effective Communication and Interaction with People with Disabilities,” delivered in collaboration with the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs.

The programme concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony for participating employees, attended by Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah al-Thani, Director of Human Resources at QIIB, and Amir al-Mulla, Executive Director of the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs, alongside senior representatives from both organisations and the programme’s instructors.

This initiative reflects QIIB’s corporate social responsibility strategy, which places the empowerment of people with disabilities and their dignified, independent access to all banking services at the forefront of its priorities. The intensive training program covered key areas including sign language and best practices for engaging with people with different types of disabilities, supporting QIIB’s efforts to deliver an exceptional and equitable banking experience for all customers.

Commenting on the occasion, Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah al-Thani, Director of Human Resources at QIIB, highlighted the longstanding partnership between the Bank and the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs, saying: “This training programme is another milestone in our long-standing and successful collaboration with the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs. At QIIB, we believe that corporate social responsibility extends beyond financial support; it is about making a genuine investment in our people, equipping them with the skills and capabilities to serve all segments of society with efficiency and the highest standards of professionalism.”

“The ongoing partnership between QIIB and the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs is a strong example of collaboration between the banking sector and civil society organisations. It contributes to raising public awareness, removing barriers for valued members of our community, and ensuring their active participation in economic and social development.”

He further noted: “At its core, this programme is driven by both developmental and humanitarian objectives. Through this initiative, QIIB seeks to redefine accessibility as more than the physical design of buildings and branches, such as ramps and lifts. It is equally about human and institutional accessibility, ensuring that our frontline employees have the knowledge, skills and confidence to understand the needs of customers with disabilities and respond to them seamlessly.”

Sheikh Ali added: “We are proud of the commitment and dedication demonstrated by our employees throughout this programme. QIIB will continue to support initiatives that contribute to building a more inclusive and cohesive society, in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.”

For his part, Amir al-Mulla, Executive Director of the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs, praised QIIB’s pioneering role, saying: “We are delighted to continue our collaboration with QIIB. The Bank’s commitment to training its employees and enhancing their ability to communicate effectively with people with disabilities reflects a high level of institutional awareness and reinforces the banking sector’s vital role as a key partner in advancing social inclusion.”

Al Mulla further noted: “Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs highly values QIIB’s continued support. We are confident that the outcomes of this programme will have a direct and positive impact on the quality of services provided to our members and to all people with disabilities in Qatar. We hope this collaboration will serve as a model for other institutions to follow.”
