Doha: The Interior Ministry's Preventive Security Department seized three Asians while producing and packing the harmful suwaika substance.
In a press release, issued today, the Ministry of Interior said the three persons were arrested as part the efforts made by the Ministry of Interior to maintain security and fight against any actions that will harm to members of the community.
The statement said 3286 packs of suwaika substance was found with the three persons, adding that the seized material has been kept and the accused persons have been referred to concerned authorities for violating the law organizing the entry, exit, residence and sponsorship of expatriates.
The Preventive Security Department received information that a number of persons produce, pack and sell the harmful suwaika substance in a house in Doha and after investigations, collection of evidences and monitoring the moves of the suspected persons, it has been proven that the information are correct and plan was drawn up to catch them red handed.
After legal procedures were taken and prior permission from the Public Prosecution obtained, the house was raided and three persons belonging to Asian nationalities were held. 3286 packs of suwaika were found with them.
The Preventive Security Department has urged citizens and residents to co-operate with security agencies of the Ministry of Interior by reporting any person suspected of producing and dealing in suwaika by contacting the Department's Operations Centre on 2346000, Al Adeid service on 2346111, on fax 44477779, a text message on 92994 or e-mail aladeidmoi.gov.qa.
