Doha, Qatar: With school holidays underway and the summer season in full swing, it is the perfect time for families to enjoy refreshing days out together. As part of this year’s Hala Summer 2026 programme, Visit Qatar is showcasing some of the country’s best aquatic experiences.

Located just a short drive from central Doha on Qetaifan Island North in Lusail, Meryal Waterpark is Qatar’s largest waterpark and a popular destination for families.

The park features 53 slides and 69 attractions, including the 85-metre Icon Tower, the world’s tallest waterpark tower and home to a collection of record-breaking water slides and attractions. For younger visitors, the park provides dedicated splash zones, lazy rivers, and wave pools, ensuring safe and enjoyable experiences for all ages.

Throughout June, families can also enjoy the Summer Splash activation at Meryal Beach. Running from June 1 to 30, the programme features live entertainment, interactive activities, and appearances by popular Nickelodeon characters including PAW Patrol and SpongeBob SquarePants. These beachside experiences extend into the cooler evening hours, making it an ideal option for family outings after sunset.

For those seeking a short escape from the city, Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park offers a popular road-trip destination along Qatar’s western coastline. Located within Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas, the park spans over 57,000 square metres, and features more than 30 rides, slides, and attractions making it one of the largest waterparks in the Middle East.

Beyond the water attractions, Desert Falls also offers a wide range of dry activities such as go-karting, laser tag, and canyoning, allowing visitors to enjoy a full day of entertainment in one location. Combined with the resort’s accommodation, private beach, and dining options, it delivers a complete staycation experience.

From Meryal in Lusail to Desert Falls on the west coast, families can enjoy world-class leisure experiences close to home throughout the summer in Qatar. Combined with Kids Go Free offers and the wider Hala Summer campaign; residents have ample opportunities to explore the country’s diverse attractions.
