Doha, Qatar: A widely-shared video clip shows Argentinian Football superstar Lionel Messi encountered a brief hurdle at Beijing Airport on June 10 when he was stopped by Chinese Border Police along with the Argentinian national team.

According to social media, the reason behind the hold-up was a visa issue, as Messi was carrying his Spanish passport instead of his Argentinian one, which did not have a Chinese visa.

Fortunately, the matter was resolved within 30 minutes, and Messi, along with his teammates, was able to proceed and exit the airport.

The Inter Miami’s new player is joining his fellow Argentinian national team players for a friendly match against the Australian team on Thursday, June 15.

The match will take place at the Workers Stadium in Beijing.
