Fatullah, Bangladesh - India took their first innings score from 239-0 to 398-3 by lunch on the third day after play finally resumed in the rain-hit one-off Test against Bangladesh in Fatullah on Friday.

Murali Vijay, who shared an opening partnership of 283 with Shikhar Dhawan, was unbeaten on 144 after the extended morning session at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali stadium.

Shakib Al Hasan removed Dhawan (173) and Rohit Sharma (six), before Jubair Hossain bowled skipper Virat Kohli (12), as India slipped from 283 for no loss to 310 for three.

But Ajinkya Rahane (55 not out) put on 88 runs for the unbroken fourth wicket with Vijay to boost the total.

Play started on time under sunny skies after heavy rain allowed just 56 of the stipulated 90 overs on the opening day, while the entire second day's play was washed out.
