Doha, Qatar: The Shura Council Speaker HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met Thursday in Doha with the United Kingdom's ambassador to the country, HE Neerav Patel where the two discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed relations between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom, particularly parliamentary cooperation and ways to strengthen and develop it.
They also discussed the latest developments in the region and the ongoing military escalation.
The Speaker reiterated the Shura Council's condemnation of Iranian attacks on Qatar and the targeting of its infrastructure.
He said the attacks constituted a "blatant violation" of Qatar's sovereignty and a breach of international law, the United Nations Charter and established ethical norms.
The speaker warned of the serious consequences such attacks could have on security and stability in the region and globally, calling for them to stop immediately.
For his part, the UK ambassador expressed his country's condemnation of the attack on Qatari territory and affirmed Britain's full solidarity with Doha.
