Doha: The 9th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and the 3rd Qatar International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ) are witnessing increased participation from the GCC countries.

The exhibition is being held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) until March 14.

The participants include exhibitors and those taking part in associated events, said the Ministry of Municipality in a statement. The participants lauded the exhibition, describing it as a meeting place for farmers, producers, stakeholders, production companies and consumers, providing opportunities to further enhance their deep relations.

The GCC participants said the exhibition is also serving as a platform to enhance trade among the GCC countries.

Abdullah Al Shuraim, a representative of a Saudi company, said his participation in the exhibition comes from the company’s keenness to participate in the most important international exhibitions, especially the Qatar International Agricultural and Environmental Exhibition.

He said the exhibition has great importance at the world level as it provides a lot of opportunities to participants such as exchanging expertise, sharing experiences and explore the latest technologies in the environment and agriculture sectors.

Al Shuraim said his company is working in the field of exporting vegetable and fruit products to the Gulf countries. He said Qatar is one of the most promising countries for regional and international companies.

Masooma Al Qattan, who represents a Kuwaiti company at the exhibition, expressed her happiness to participate in the event, praising the level of organisation and the opportunities that the exhibition provides for companies to promote their products.

She stressed that interactions among exhibitors, investors and visitors demonstrates the important role that Qatar International Agricultural and Environmental Exhibition plays in supporting the promising future and dynamic directions of Qatar.

Sultan Muslim, a representative of an Omani company, said the exhibition strengthens bridges of communication, and opens greater horizons for trade and investment ties between the countries in the region and beyond.

He said the exhibition also helps participating countries to cooperate in making future plans and finding sustainable collective solutions to the most pressing global challenges of the present time, including economic and environmental issues.

Muslim said the exhibition will provide visitors with the opportunity to explore a wide range of agricultural techniques, machinery, and related products.

Fahd Al Zamil from a Saudi company said the exhibition is a strategic platform to explore new horizons to advance the agricultural sector as it is the backbone of food security, which is at the forefront of strategic priorities to achieve self-sufficiency.

He said the exhibition is also an effective platform for offering innovative environmental solutions to address the challenges in agriculture and environment sectors.
Muhammad Abdullah Al Kindi, a participant, said the exhibition succeeded in attracting exhibitors from several countries because it is an interactive platform to display the latest products, machines, technologies and solutions to agricultural and environmental challenges.

“We have high hopes for this exhibition, and we are confident that it will achieve a success that exceeds our expectations, as this exhibition expresses the extent of societal awareness of the importance of the agricultural sector in the GCC countries, which calls for reassurance about the future of the coming generations with their awareness and high culture of the role of their national production,” he added.

Al Kindi said the exhibition is an opportunity to bring together decision-makers, pioneers of the agricultural and environmental sectors and stakeholders from all over the region and the world under one roof, to share experiences and ideas to come up with recommendations and effective solutions that would encourage optimal investment in agricultural projects and livestock production.
