More showers are in store for the residents over the coming weeks beginning with intermittent rains from today. Today, the mercury is expected touch mid-thirties in some parts of the country, according to the Meteorology Department.
Sky over the country would be overcast with clouds from this evening, with the northerly winds returning during the time. Chances of scattered rain will increase from today until Tuesday. The rain is expected to move out during day time on Wednesday. Conditions are expected to become favourable having scattered rain again on Thursday and Friday.
However, today, until evening, the temperature will go up to mid thirties in some parts of the country. The wind direction is expected to shift from the current southerly to northerly today evening, bringing-in cooler weather.Due to this,the mercury will fall back to the normal degrees for the period by evening.
Doha, Messaieed, and Al Wakrah would have a maximum temperature of 31 degrees Celsius, while Al Khor and Dukhan would have maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, followed by Ruwais with 28 degrees Celsius.
Abu Samrah would be hottest today with the temperature going up to 33 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperature would be 19 degrees Celsius. Doha, Messaieed, Al Wakrah, Ruwais and Dukhan would have minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.
Today, the weather would be hazy at first with blowing dust at times. The sky would become cloudy by evening with chance of scattered rain, at times accompanied by thunder at places. Strong winds blowing dusts are expected, reducing the visibility to less than 3km at places at times.
Meanwhile, the rains this week are expected to be scattered, and of light to moderate intensity, with a chance of thunder over some areas.
However, the bureau’s monthly climate predictions show better chances of rain in the beginning of next week. The weather bureau has urged all to follow latest updates through its official social media accounts.
