A Doha-based new sanctuary ‘Naufar’ for wellness and treatment of substance use and related behavioural disorders is set to officially open in May, according to sources.
The Peninsula has learnt that Dr Sharifa Al Emadi has been appointed Executive Director of Naufar Center ahead of the facility’s opening. Dr Emadi has held many important positions previously and she was the Director of Treatment and Rehabilitation Department at ‘Al Aween’, the former Social Rehabilitation Center and Consultant Psychiatrist at the family consultation Center ‘ Wifaq.’
Naufar is a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility which includes 127 residential rooms with clinics and over 50 rooms for individual and group treatment and therapy. An extensive range of hospitality products and facilities including a spa, gym, restaurants, café, conference centre and meeting rooms supported by a personalised level of service are also available.
The centre also includes residential and non-residential programmes, assessment services and awareness programmes. It aims to be recognised as a centre of excellence within three years from opening.
