Singapore team visits Sewage Treatment Plant Project

Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) hosted a high level delegation from Singapore recently. The delegation visited Doha North Sewage Treatment Plant. The plant is one of the most important projects implemented by Ashghal’s Infrastructure affairs. 
The delegation, headed by Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security of the Republic of Singapore, also included Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Indranee Rajah, Senior Minister of State for Law and Finance Affairs,  Dr Mohammed Malki Othman, Senior Minister of State for Defence and Foreign Affairs, Dr Koh Poh Koon, Minister of State in the Ministry of National Development & Ministry of Trade and Industry, Amrin Amin, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Wong Kook Bon, Ambassador of Singapore to Qatar. The delegation was accompanied by Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al Hamar, Ambassador of Qatar to Singapore.
Eng Nasser bin Ali Al Mawlawi, President of the Public Works Authority, received the delegation along with Eng Jalal Yousif Al Salhi, Director of Infrastructure Affairs, Eng Ahmed Sharif, Acting Director of Assets Affairs and Manager of Drainage Networks Operations & Maintenance Department and, Eng Khalid Saif Al Khayarin, Manager of Drainage Networks Projects Department, and Abdullah Saad Al Saad, Manager of Public Relations and Communications Department. 
A delegation from the Ministry of Municipality & Environment including Sheikh Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Assistant Under-Secretary for Public Service Affairs and  Mohammed Lahdan Al Kaabi, Director of Municipal Control Department in the Municipality of Umm Slal also took part in the visit.
The visiting delegation was briefed on the project and the progress its making, the engineering and construction techniques used in its implementation, the components and advantages of the new treatment plant and the thermal drying plant, the plants’ advanced systems, and finally the current works being implemented.
Nasser Bbn Ali Al Mawlawi expressed his happiness with the visit and the cooperation between Qatar and Singapore in the fields of sewerage treatment and recycling. He also expressed hope for further cooperation with Singaporean companies in different projects similar to the Doha North Sewerage Treatment Plant Project which is being implemented by Keppel Seghers Engineering Singapore LTD Company.
