Doha, Qatar: The Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force “Lekhwiya,” HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, met with Minister of the Interior of the Italian Republic, HE Matteo Piantedosi during His Excellency’s official visit to the Republic of Italy on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral cooperation and ways to support and develop them in areas of mutual security interest, particularly in securing major events and exchanging expertise in policing.
This comes in light of the participation of the Qatari force under the Security Committee in securing the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Both sides emphasised the importance of continuing coordination and the exchange of expertise, and benefiting from best practices in security planning and the protection of major events and international sporting competitions, in a manner that enhances performance efficiency and strengthens security cooperation between the two friendly countries.
