76,334 tonnes of wastes removed in December

Doha: The General Cleanliness Department represented by the General Services Affairs removed over 76,334 tonnes of wastes, including households, construction and sold wastes in December 2021.

The Department also removed 25,557 tonnes of miscellaneous wastes which were threw out randomly, said the Ministry of Municipality in a statement. Under the cleaning campaigns, 5,788 used tires, 38 signboards, 548 carcasses of animals, 225 abandoned vehicles were removed during the period of study.

The Department recorded 169 violations of some provisions of the Law of Public Hygiene. 

Action was taken  on a total of 1,625 requests to serve the people. The Department also provided 620 new garbage containers and signed 926 contracts related to containers, and as many as 8,986 garbage containers were washed in December.
