Ankara: The Istanbul suicide bombing that left 10 people dead, mostly Germans, was carried out by a jihadist from the Islamic State extremist group, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Tuesday.

"We have determined that the perpetrator of the attack is a foreigner who is a member of Daesh," Dautoglu said in Ankara, using an Arabic acronym for IS. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had earlier confirmed the bomber was of Syrian origin.
