Experienced campaigner Waleed Mahmoud Al Sharshani finished third in the Jet Ski Aquabike World Cup 2017 to clinch the second podium place for Qatar at the ongoing championship in Pattaya, Thailand yesterday.
Competing in the Pro Runabout Waleed clinched the bronze medal behind winner Chris Maccluggage of USA and runner-up Muhammad Burbayea of Kuwait.
Waleed is taking part in his fourth World Cup and in 2016 he topped at a US event.
As many as 22 competitors where vying for a place on the podium.
On Saturday, promising rider Ali Al Naimi finished third in the Novice Runabout Stock category
The two Qatari riders underwent strenuous training for weeks at Al Wakra beach before heading for the championship.
