DOHA: A misdemeanour court found four women guilty of assaulting a woman at a wedding party, local Arabic daily Al Raya  reports.
The foursome were fined QR5,000 each for attacking the victim with spoons, knives and forks that had  been kept at the dinner table.
The victim sustained injuries all over her body.
The fight began when the victim complained about not inviting some of her relatives to the wedding.
One of the convicts then told her to leave the wedding hall if she was not comfortable to be alone. A heated argument ensued and the four started assaulting her.
However, the daily said the assailants and the victim already had some misunderstandings and when they met at the wedding they found a reason to fight.
Initially, the victim also threw spoons and knives at the convicts and soon the wedding hall looked like a wrestling ring, the report added.
The victim left the hall and lodged a complaint with police.
Officers conducted a preliminary investigating and referred the case to public prosecution which transferred it to the court after a probe.
Following the verdict, the lawyer of the convicts applied for an appeal.
