Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Public Parks Department and Al Rayyan Municipality, organised a tree planation event in Al Gharrafa Air-Conditioned Park, within the framework of participation in the celebration of World Environment Day.
As many as 18 Ambassadors, heads of the mission and a number of Qatari Rail officials participated in the event, which was part of Plant Ten Million Trees initiative, which aims to enhance biodiversity, benefit from treated water for irrigation, and improve air quality.
The initiative also constitutes an opportunity to coordinate regional and international efforts to contribute to enriching biodiversity in the Middle East, protecting vegetation and combating desertification. The Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality called all members of the community, institutions, government agencies, the private sector, companies, schools, educational institutions, youth centres and sports clubs to participate in the initiative.
