Doha: Three people were arrested by North Security Department for production and sales of homemade liquor.
According to Ministry of Interior post on social media, the North Security Patrol spotted a vehicle in a suspicious condition during their routine patrolling. As the security persons approached the vehicle driver tried to run away, but the cops gave a chase and took him into custody.
The security person found 350 bottles of 1.5 litre capacity filled with liquor like liquids inside the vehicle. While interrogating, the accused confessed to producing liquor at his house with the help of two other people.
After making required legal procedures in coordination with Rayyan Security Department, Al-Fazaa and Criminal Investigation Department, his home was searched and two of his helpers from same nationality were arrested.
They also confisicated 1,220 bottles of 1.5 litre capacity each and 55 large barrels with capacity of 200 litre each filled with liquor along with materials and equipment used for liquor making. Large amount of cash also was found at the premises. The accused confessed that they were the proceeds from the sale of liquor.
The accused were referred to the public prosecution for further legal procedures against them to produce them in front of the court.
