Doha: Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday presided over the first meeting of Board of Directors of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy of the year 2015 at Al Bahr Palace.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of the Emir and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors H H Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Prime Minister and Interior Minister and Board Member H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and other Board members.
The meeting discussed progress of work and the achievements made so far in all 2022 FIFA World Cup projects.
Doha: President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani has issued a decision appointing Dr Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari as QOC Secretary General.
Dr Thani Al Kuwari has held leading sports positions, including Director General of the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship 2015, staged early this year in Doha, as well as Secretary General and Executive Director of El Jaish Sports Club.
