Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command announced that 85 ISIS militants were killed in different security operations near the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
A statement issued by the Command said security forces managed to kill 21 militants, to injure 4 others and to destroy 5 vehicles belonging to them in Al Karma, Al Bushajal and Nazim Al Taqsim area west of Baghdad, adding that the international coalition warplanes killed in an air raid 7 ISIS militants southwest of Baghdad.
The statement said 8 explosive devices were dismantles and 6 militants were killed in Al Sebaihat area in western Baghdad while 8 ISIS militants were killed,10 others injured and 3 hideouts were destroyed in Al Ma'meer and Al Itr, southwest of Baghdad.
The statement explained that security forces found 20 explosive charges, big quantities of highly explosive materials, rockets, weapons and ammunitions in Al Tharthar area. Another security force also found a rockets cache in Al Obeid area in northern Baghdad.
In another operation, Nenava Operations Command forces aborted an attack on one of the villages of Makhmour district, southeast of Mosul in northern Iraq. Sources explained that security forces killed 29 ISIS militants when they repulsed the attack.
