Focus International Qatar organises 'Reboot the Earth e-Waste' awareness campaign

Doha, Qatar: As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of Focus International, Qatar Region, an E-Waste Awareness & Collection Drive titled “Reboot the Earth” was successfully conducted at Noble International School, Wakrah Campus, with the support of Seashore Recycling & Sustainability.

The programme aimed to educate students and teachers about the hazards of electronic waste and the importance of proper disposal and recycling. An awareness session highlighted the responsibility of students in environmental protection and sustainable living. The session was addressed by Dr. Shibu Abdul Rasheed, Principal of Noble International School. Dilba Midlaj, Executive Member of Focus International; and Sara Khan, Business Executive from Seashore Recycling & Sustainability delivered the awareness classes. Mohammed Ashiq, Event Manager of Focus International, and Lirshad, Divisional Manager of Seashore Recycling & Sustainability, were also present at the program.

As part of the campaign, e-waste collection arrangements have been set up at the school from January 7 to January 14. School authorities expressed confidence that this initiative would make strong impact on students and parents on encouraging the scientific and environmentally friendly disposal of unused electronic devices. Focus International representatives stated that “Reboot the earth” campaigns aims on awareness for the community onenvironmental responsibility and sustainability, contributing to the creation of a safer and greener planet for future generations.

The closing ceremony of the 20th anniversary celebrations of Focus International, Qatar Region will be held on January 16 at Awsaj Auditorium, Qatar Foundation. The event will be attended by MLA Najeeb Kanthapuram and educationist Mohammed Ajmal C, according to the organizers.
