Doha: The vibrant spirit of Malaysia came alive at ‘The Best of Malaysia Showcase’, held in Doha on November 6. The event was jointly organised by the Embassy of Malaysia in Doha and Rexpocentral Sdn Bhd (Malaysia), to promote Malaysia’s diverse attractions, healthcare excellence, and investment opportunities.

The showcase was officiated by Ambassador of Malaysia to Qatar H E Mohammad Faizal Razali. The event drew tremendous attention from Qatar’s multicultural community, including prominent business leaders, entrepreneurs, dignitaries, and members of the public, making it a resounding success for its inaugural edition in Doha.

Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Razali said, “This is profound honour to welcome everyone to this distinguished gathering. This is not merely an exhibition, but a strategic platform celebrating the convergence of Malaysia’s most vital sectors: academic, tourism, investment, and culture. Malaysia and Qatar share an enduring and strategic partnership, spanning vital sectors including economy, education and defence. We are united by a common commitment to forge a more robust partnership, positioning this showcase as a pivotal avenue for exploring opportunities, collaboration and mutual growth.

“The sectors highlighted today serve as dynamic pillars to Malaysia’s global outreach. Our education sector is a testament to our academic excellence, featuring five universities ranked among top 200 in the world, as we are also proud to host over 130,000 international students from around the globe.”

The Malaysian Ambassador added, “This success is matched by our health tourism, a sector which is poised to welcome over 1.5 million health travellers annually. This volume is driven by the confluence of high-quality, advance treatments and Malaysia’s signature hospitality.

“Furthermore, for those seeking long-term residency and investment, the Malaysia My Second Home programme provides an optimal avenue that has seen over 60,000 successful approvals since its inception, confirming Malaysia as an ideal, versatile environment for retirement and investment.” Announcing that the next year will be celebrated as Visit Malaysia Year 2026, he said, “We are a rich mosaic of Malay, Chinese and Indian heritage, offering tantalising gastronomy, pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and urban centres where luxury remains surprisingly affordable.”

The Best of Malaysia Showcase served as a dynamic platform for visitors to explore Malaysia’s world-class medical and wellness offerings. Representatives from leading Malaysian hospitals, the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), and PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre were present to provide personalised healthcare consultations and professional medical advice. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about advanced treatment options, rehabilitation services, and holistic wellness programmes available in Malaysia.

Informative sessions were conducted on the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme and foreign property ownership opportunities in Malaysia, offering insights for those considering long-term investment or retirement in the country. Visitors also enjoyed a virtual reality (VR) experience presented by Tourism Malaysia and local travel agencies, allowing them to take a virtual journey through Malaysia’s breathtaking destinations.

Chief Executive Officer of REXPO Group of Companies Ahmed Rezal Chan highlighted that The Best of Malaysia Showcase served as a vital platform to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Malaysia and Qatar. He emphasised that through shared initiatives in tourism, healthcare, and business development, both nations can unlock new avenues for collaboration, innovation, and mutual growth that will benefit communities across both countries.
