Qatar Charity celebrates 'Clean Hands Day' in Pakistan

Qatar Charity’s Sub-Field Office in Mirpurkhas governorate in the southern Sindh province has conducted an orientation social activity for the World Day of Clean Hands on October 15.

The event was attended by 300 persons including students, teachers, parents and notables of Jan Muhammad Junejo area. The event began with Islamic songs delivered by the student “Kadder Boox”, a speech delivered by Habib al Rahman, Project manager of “Water and Sanitation”, a speech delivered by Rachel Khackala, a Community Counselor, and a speech delivered by school's principal, Ali Hassan. A play was performed by the students addressing the impact of using polluted water and the consequences of poor personal hygiene. Drawing competitions were organised and gifts were distributed to winners by Qatar Charity.

Khaled Wakeel, Director of QC office in Pakistan, said: "“Water and Sanitation” project implemented by QC and jointly funded by QC and Qatar Red Crescent is a continuation of Relief Shelter project implemented by Qatar Red Crescent in 2013 by constructing 252 housing units for flood-affected families in Mirpurkhas.
