ANKARA: Qatar-Turkey Joint Committee for Labor Affairs held its third meeting on August 8 and 9 in Ankara, Turkey.
The Qatari side was chaired by Assistant Undersecretary for Labor Affairs at the Ministry of Labor Mohammed Hassan Al Obaidli and the Turkish side was chaired by Director General for Foreign Relations at the Ministry of Labor and Social Security Oguz Tuncay.
Director General of Passports at the Ministry of Interior Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Ateeq and Qatar Chamber General Manager Saleh Al Sharqi participated in the meeting.
The meeting of the Qatar-Turkey Joint Committee came in accordance with the agreement signed between the two countries in the workforce field. During the meeting, the two sides stressed several important aspects to strengthen bilateral labor relations during the coming period.
Also, the two sides discussed labor sector issues, expectations for the labor market in the two countries, and ways to benefit from qualified cadres through the application of the manpower agreement signed between them. They reviewed aspects of joint cooperation, exchanging experiences in labor fields, and ways to overcome challenges facing manpower, in addition to following up on the agenda and workflow procedures between the two sides.
On the sideline of the visit to the Republic of Turkey, Qatar's delegation met with HE Minister of Labor and Social Security of the Republic of Turkey Vedat Bilgin where they reviewed ways of strengthening cooperation in labor-relevant fields.
Qatar delegation was also briefed on the experience of the Republic of Turkey in the field of employment through a visit to the Chamber of Industry of Turkey and the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR).
