DOHA: ExxonMobil Qatar experts held six courses under Tamayoz training programme, an initiative launched in 2012 to share the company’s technical, commercial and operational expertise with partners and individuals in the energy sector.
ExxonMobil Qatar supports Qatar National Vision 2030 through Tamayoz by sharing experience, disseminating knowledge and instilling best practices in Qatar’s workforce.
More than 120 courses have been offered free to ExxonMobil partners with nearly 1,700 people receiving training since the programme’s inception. Subject areas covered in recent courses included technical (surface and subsurface), project management, and leadership and personal effectiveness.
“Tamayoz provides tailor-made courses to support development of national workforce and success of our colleagues and partners in the energy sector,” said Alistair Routledge, President and General Manager, ExxonMobil Qatar.
“Tamayoz allows ExxonMobil to transfer energy of its people and the knowledge we have accumulated over the years. Our experts share industry-leading technical, commercial and operational expertise customised for and delivered in Qatar.”
The geoscience concepts for engineers and scientists course in technical (surface and subsurface) subject provided a background on geologic time, the earth’s structure and compositions, and diagenetic processes. The course is for individuals involved in reservoir management, or who require a basic geoscience background in their jobs.
The fundamentals of cost and scheduling engineering course for individuals working with capital projects, helped participants gain a better understanding of cost engineering, cost data, scheduling and project controls.
The courses also included consecutive leadership and personal effectiveness courses — finance for non-financial professionals; technical/commercial leadership fundamentals; and fundamentals of communication. All three courses focused on increasing participants’ understanding of self and developing leadership skills to help them be better prepared in their roles and improve their ability to influence.
