President Benigno Aquino III had a second meeting with Senator Grace Poe-Llamanzares but he made no moves to convince her to run for either president or vice president under their Liberal Party, the senator confirmed yesterday.
Poe said the meeting happened in Malacañang at 1 p.m. and centered around issues regarding the transition to the next leadership and the need to continue the reforms initiated by the Aquino administration.
“In due fairness to the President, nabigyan naman niya ako ng pagkakataong makapagsalita, at sinabi niya na sa LP daw, patas sila mamili. Lahat sila ay may opinion at hindi lang naman iisa o iilan na mga tao lamang (he gave me a chance to speak and he assured me that the LP is fair when choosing candidates. All of them are open to voice out their opinions),”Poe said in an interview.
Asked what the President specifically told her, Poe said Aquino just told her to be ready.
