DOHA: Undersecretaries from information ministries of GCC countries who met here yesterday discussed the impact of local social networking sites on youngsters in the region and recommended that member-states should come up with a unified initiative to protect people’s privacy.
They also discussed the impact of the networking sites on the economic development of member-states, reports QNA.
They also discussed some websites making adverse impact on youngsters and children.
A team has been set up to follow up on the issues especially as the number of Internet users in the region has been increasing.
