At least four areas in Northern Luzon are now under public storm warning signal (PSWS) No. 4 as typhoon “Dodong” is expected to make landfall over Sta. Ana Pt. in Cagayan, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday.
The state-run weather agency said the areas covered by PSWS No. 4 (indicating winds of 171 to 220 kilometers per hour expected in 12 hours) are northeastern Cagayan, Batanes, Babuyan and Calayan Group of Islands.
In an interview, PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said that typhoon “Dodong” is expected to make landfall over Sta. Ana Pt., Cagayan on Sunday afternoon or early evening and will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Tuesday morning (May 12) headed toward Japan.
