Doha: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanem has honoured the winners of the first five places, in the three categories of the entire Holy Quran branch, in 27th Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani Holy Quran Competition, in a ceremony held at Sheraton Hotel.
At the ceremony, the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the competition Nasser Yousef Al Sulaiti said that after a stoppage of nearly two consecutive years, the competition back, thanks to God, to continue the path of good giving, in Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani Holy Quran Competition with its multiple branches and various sections.
He added that the competition was launched last Sunday, and the number of participants reached 1,400 competitors. The ceremony witnessed honouring the distinguished new converts participating in the competition, males and females, in the new converts branch. The value of the prizes allocated to the winners of the entire Holy Quran branch is QR1.2m, with the first five winners in each of the three categories receiving valuable financial rewards.
