Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs continues to implement its remote Quran learning initiative, “Taa’hud”, during the holy month of Ramadan, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote the teaching and memorization of the Holy Quran.
The programme is conducted through the Microsoft Teams platform under the supervision of the Quran and its Sciences Section at the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance.
The initiative allows students, employees, and elderly participants to attend lessons in recitation, memorization, and revision from their locations within an organized and interactive educational environment that follows quality teaching standards and ensures continuity in learning.
Around 18,000 male and female students from different age groups are currently participating in the programme, reflecting the strong public demand for remote Quran learning circles and the growing community trust in the ministry’s educational initiatives, particularly those focused on teaching the Holy Quran. The “Taa’hud” programme targets a wide range of age groups starting from six years old and above, bringing together children, teenagers, youth, employees, and senior citizens. It offers multiple educational tracks tailored to varying learning levels and needs, including lessons in Arabic foundational reading (Hijaiyah), memorization and revision circles, revision-only sessions, and Quranic recitation classes.
The initiative aims to enable members of the community to memorize and master the Holy Quran, while providing a flexible learning environment that accommodates the diverse circumstances of learners. It also emphasizes the use of modern digital technologies to support Islamic education, strengthen individuals’ connection with the Quran, and instill Islamic values across different segments of society.
The continued implementation of the “Taa’hud” programme reflects the ministry’s broader commitment to developing Quran education systems and advancing digital transformation in educational programs, helping expand access to Quranic knowledge and contribute to building a generation firmly rooted in its religious and moral values.
