Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Cricket Committee held its Ordinary General Assembly meeting, followed by an Extraordinary General Assembly meeting.

The meeting was chaired by QCA Chairman Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al-Thani, while Secretary-General Khalid Saleh Al Rumaihi, Board Member representing the Assistant Secretary-General Abdullah Hussein Al Marri, several other committee members, and a representative of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) for Sports Affairs were also present.

The meeting included the presentation and discussion of the 2025 sports activity reports, a review of future plans and proposed requirements for 2026, and the approval of the 2026 fiscal year budget.

This reflects the Committee’s commitment to further developing cricket in Qatar and enhancing its presence both locally and internationally.

The committee also held an extraordinary general assembly meeting, where members discussed several important organisational items, most notably the adoption of the name change from the Qatar Cricket Committee to the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA), in line with the requirements of the next phase and the institutional nature of the sport.

The extraordinary general assembly also approved amendments to the statutes following the adoption of the new name, a step aimed at strengthening governance and developing the legal and regulatory framework for cricket in Qatar.
