DOHA: The Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the Qatari Police Sports Federation, will organise a variety of sporting activities on Tuesday at Old Doha Port Park in celebration of National Sports Day 2025. This initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to continuous engagement with the national and expatriate workforce, business owners, and the general public.
The Ministry stated that this year’s National Sports Day programme includes a diverse range of sports, recreational activities, and competitions. These include football, golf, badminton, volleyball, basketball, horse riding, a boxing challenge, and bowling. Additionally, there will be special sports competitions and activities for children, such as cup stacking, wall target, header shot, sack race, football competitions, chess, the snake game, and a children’s camp.
The Ministry of Labour invites the national workforce in the private sector, business owners, workers, employees, their families, and the general public to participate in the sports activities and competitions organised by the Ministry on Tuesday at Old Doha Port Park, starting at 8am.
The Ministry reaffirmed its strong commitment to promoting sports activities within workplaces and workers’ accommodations. In collaboration with joint labour committees, it continues to raise awareness among the workforce about the importance of physical activity, recognising its vital role in enhancing occupational health and safety and contributing to overall societal well-being.
The Ministry stated that organising these events underscores its dedication to highlighting the importance of sports and their significant role in fostering a culture of discipline, cooperation, participation, productivity, teamwork, mutual respect, and social harmony.
