Dubai: Quetta Gladiators claimed their first win of the second Pakistan Super League (PSL) season by overcoming Lahore Qalandars by 8 runs at Dubai International Cricket Stadium yesterday..
Gladiators, the last edition's runners-up had set 136 runs target for Qalandars with Rilee Rossouw scoring a 60-run knock from 47 deliveries.
His innings included three fours and two sixes. Asad Shafiq made 29 off 28 deliveries.
For Lahore, PSL debutant Mohammad Irfan junior got three wickets for 26 runs while Sohail Tanvir and Sunil Narine took two wickets each.
The Lahore Qalandars, in reply, were bowled out for 128 runs in 18.4 overs.
For Gladiators, Zulfiqar Babar got two wickets for 31 runs and Hassan Khan also got two wickets for 10 runs.
Meanwhile, defending champions Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets on D/L method in the opening PSL game on Thursday night. Bradd Haddin (73) and Dwayne Smith (55) crafted the victory.
