Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar strongly condemned the storming of the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in occupied East Jerusalem by Israeli occupation forces, considering it a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and a flagrant challenge to the international community’s will.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement warned that the systematic Israeli targeting of UNRWA ultimately paves the way for further violations against the rights of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Syria, and Lebanon, and constitutes part of the broader policy of restrictions and blockade imposed by the occupation authorities on Palestinian civil society.
Qatar reaffirmed its full support for UNRWA’s humanitarian efforts to protect its established rights and legal mandate to provide services to affected Palestinians, emphasizing its firm stance in support of the State of Palestine based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
