Doha, Qatar: The Zakat Affairs Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced that it provided financial assistance amounting to QR34,070,370 during October 2025, benefiting 1,750 families across Qatar.
The announcement highlights the strong impact of community support and the continued trust of Zakat contributors in the department’s role as a reliable channel for charitable giving.
Assistant Director of the Zakat Affairs Department for Administrative Affairs Saeed Hadi Al-Marri, said that the department is committed to delivering Zakat funds to eligible beneficiaries accurately, transparently, and in accordance with Islamic Sharia provisions and organisational regulations. “The Zakat Affairs Department serves as a bridge between donors and recipients, embodying the true spirit of social solidarity and compassion that Zakat seeks to promote,” he noted.
According to Al-Marri, the assistance provided during October was divided into two main categories. The first included regular assistance aimed at helping families meet essential needs such as housing, living expenses, and food, with a total value of QR9,018,735. The second consisted of one-time assistance dedicated to supporting patients with medical treatment, paying school fees, and helping those burdened with debts, amounting to QR25,051,635.
He emphasided that all assistance applications undergo thorough social research and evaluation to ensure that Zakat reaches those who are truly in need. Applications can be submitted electronically through the department’s official website www.zakat.gov.qa, with required documents uploaded online to expedite processing.
Al-Marri also encouraged individuals and companies to fulfil their Zakat obligations conveniently and securely through the various channels provided by the department. He explained that Zakat can be paid through the mobile application available on Apple and Android devices, via the official website, or through the Zakat collection offices and points distributed across different areas of Qatar.
The department also provides a fast collection service through the hotlines 55199990 and 55199996, in addition to direct bank transfers to the department’s official accounts.
Concluding his remarks, Al-Marri affirmed: “Zakat is not merely a financial contribution—it is a profound act of worship that purifies wealth and the soul, spreading blessings throughout society.
