The Al Masar programme provides Qatari students graduating from Qatar Foundation schools with scholarships, academic support, professional mentoring.
Doha, Qatar: As part of Qatar Foundation’s (QF) Pre-University Education Al Masar sponsorship programme, graduates who once walked the halls of QF schools are now returning as teachers, shaping the next generation of learners.
At the annual Pre-University Education Forum, AlHanouf Ahmed Al-Dosari, English Teacher at Tariq Bin Ziad School, and Fatima Hassan Al-Hammadi, Learning Support Teacher at Qatar Academy Doha, part of QF’s Pre University Education, shared their inspiring journeys, reflecting on how their experiences as students led them back to QF as educators, and how they are now contributing to the growth of future generations.
AlHanouf Ahmed Al-Dosari said: “I started my journey as a student at Awsaj Academy. While it was a fun and memorable experience, it also came with challenges, particularly because of the stigma that once surrounded the school.
“For me, graduating and joining QF was about breaking that stereotype and showing that Awsaj academy students are capable of achieving great things. Today, I’m proud to be part of the system that helped shape me.
“QF has always been a strong supporter of education, constantly finding new ways to engage students and broaden their horizons. With continuous support from teachers and school leaders, I was encouraged to push forward even when my path seemed uncertain. The guidance I received played a key role in helping me secure my place in the field of education.
“Now, as a teacher at Tariq Bin Ziad School, I see it as an opportunity to grow and gain experience across different grade levels. The support here is incredible. I’ve been able to move between classrooms, from kindergarten to grade one, learning in an environment that prioritizes growth without overwhelming new teachers.
“I strongly encourage young Qataris to consider teaching. While it is demanding, it is also one of the most rewarding professions, helping to shape the next generation and leaving a lasting imprint on students’ lives. Through initiatives such as Al Masar sponsorship, aspiring teachers can find the guidance and opportunities they need to succeed in education and beyond.”
Fatima Al-Hammadi reflected on her experience, saying: “My journey with QF schools was one of the most formative experiences of my life, helping me prepare not only for university but also for the real world.
“In my final year of high school, we learned about Al Masar sponsorship program. It offered a pathway for graduates to return as teachers after completing their studies abroad, and I knew immediately that this was what I wanted.
