The total assistance provided by the Zakat Fund at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs for needy families in the country last July amounted to QR11m, distributed of cases that are legitimately owed to the Fund’s assistance.
The Zakat Fund said in a press release Tuesday that these expenses, which benefited 2073 families, comes within the framework of permanent assistance provided on a monthly basis and intermittent assistance which is provided for specific needs.
According to the statement, these assistances are provided after taking the social and field research procedures necessary for the applicants for assistance and to verify the accuracy of their data and documents in order to ensure that the Zakat of the people of Qatar will reached actual beneficiaries.
Meanwhile,the number of files of assistance cases in the Zakat Fund exceeded twenty thousand files.
