Weathering the slightly humid morning air, students of Birla Public School (BPS) took out a procession led by the school brass band around the school premises holding placards with messages about the need to protect nature and conserve resources to mark the World Environment Day (WED).
Zainab Noor Manzoor and Amina Bint Yoonus, students of class 8 and active members of school eco club, addressed the school and reminded their school mates, that “the well-being of humanity, the environment, and the functioning of the economy, ultimately depend upon the responsible management of the planet’s natural resources.” The school joined the environment protection campaign by the Indian Cultural Centre by planting a sapling in the ICC premises. The BPS team of students was led by Rakesh Verma, teacher in charge of school eco club. Earlier Jiji, Hajira and Marshal had rendered organisational assistance to WED celebrations at school. The Peninsula
