Qatar Charity ready for third phase of 'Cyclists for Education'

Qatar Charity, in collaboration with "Qatar Cyclists" is preparing to launch the third phase of "Cyclists for Education" initiative. The cyclists have already raised half of the money required in the past two phases, as part of the initiative that aims to raise QR5m for rebuilding a girls school in Gaza.
"Starting after Eid Al Fitr, cyclists will ride 800km from Britain to Germany to support the construction phases of the project. Qatar Cyclists team is fully prepared to start the Global Biking challenge in five European countries with over 50 young Qatari riders registering for participation," said Dr Abdul Aziz Al Kuwari, Team Leader of Qatar Cyclists Centre.
The initiative comes within the framework of QC’s belief in the importance of improving the quality of education and the learning environment, providing secondary education services to 1920 girl students in Beit Lahia and the Bedouin village in the northern Gaza strip and providing scientific laboratories.
"I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Qatar cyclists for cooperating with us and for spending both their time and effort on humanitarian work," said Ali Atiq Al Abdullah, Executive Director for Local Development in Qatar Charity.He pointed out that the third phase of the global cycling event is based on the belief that sports can deliver valuable message relating to charitable and humanitarian work adding that sports stars can help others and serve as role models for the society, especially young people.
In this context, he demonstrated that the members of Qatar Cyclists team would hold a press conference before launching the third phase to fully market the project and support charitable work and sports simultaneously through organizing various events to be sponsored by different corporates.
