Doha, Qatar: Oil prices spiked to nearly $120 per barrel before falling back slightly on Monday as Iran continued its attacks on several Arab countries, threatening production and shipping in the Middle East and pummelling financial markets.

Bahrain News Agency reported that Bapco Energies, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s integrated energy company, serves notice of Force Majeure on its Group operations which have been affected by the on-going regional conflict in the Middle East and the recent attack on its refinery complex.

Gulf nations reported missile and drone attacks Monday, while Iran pressed on with strikes against neighbouring countries.

Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain all reported new attacks, after loud explosions were heard

Two injured in Abu Dhabi as debris falls after interceptions

Abu Dhabi authorities say two people were injured in two separate locations by falling debris following an interception by the country’s air defence system.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office on its social media said a Jordanian national sustained minor injuries in the first incident, while an Egyptian national was moderately injured in the second.

General Directorate of Traffic seizes 39 vehicles for noise violations

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Traffic, has seized 39 violating vehicles that were emitting loud and disturbing noises while driving on the roads. Their drivers were apprehended and referred to the competent authorities in accordance with the procedures followed in such cases.

This action comes as part of the ongoing efforts of the General Directorate of Traffic to control violations that disturb public tranquility and cause inconvenience to road users and residents.

Producing disturbing noise from vehicles is considered a violation of Article (58) of the Traffic Law issued by Decree-Law No. (19) of 2007, which stipulates that no vehicle may be driven on the road if it emits disturbing noise, and that every vehicle must be equipped with a properly functioning muffler (silencer). Over 300 arrested for filming and circulating misleading information

The Ministry of Interior announced that the Economic and Cyber Crimes Prevention Department at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations has arrested 313 individuals of various nationalities. The arrests were made for filming and circulating unauthorized video clips, spreading misleading information and rumours, and disseminating content intended to incite public concern, in violation of official directives.
