Islamic Cultural Center’s programme enhances importance of Arabic language in schools

Doha, Qatar: The Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center organised the “My Language is My Identity” programme from February 22 to 24 to strengthen students’ national identity and highlight the importance of the Arabic language.

Hundreds of students participated in several schools. A lecture was held at Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani Independent Preparatory School attended by around 60 students, delivered by Dr. Ahmed Abdulrahim Tahan, Sheikh Yusuf Al-Jaber, and Mr. Bilal Al-Haj.

A lecture was delivered at Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah Preparatory School attended by around 40 students on the role of the Arabic language in strengthening cultural identity. A lecture titled “Al-Bayan and the Qur’an” was held at Imam Al-Shafi’i School, attended by a number of students.With the participation of hundreds of students across several schools, the “My Language Is My Identity” programme was organised between February 22 and 24 by the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center to strengthen students’ national identity by introducing the value of the Arabic language in the lives of Qatari youth. The programme included a variety of lectures that presented the Arabic language and highlighted its importance to identity from several perspectives.

A lecture was held at Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani Independent Preparatory School, where Dr. Ahmed Abdulrahim Tahan, Head of the Islamic Culture Department, along with Sheikh Yusuf Al-Jaber and Bilal Al-Haj, spoke about the importance of the Arabic language in the presence and active participation of approximately 60 students.Speakers from the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center also delivered a lecture at Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah Preparatory School before about 40 students, discussing the role of strengthening the Arabic language as a means of reinforcing cultural identity. The programme also included a lecture titled “Al-Bayan and the Qur’an” at Imam Al-Shafi’i School, attended by dozens of students.
