President of the Arab Union for Artificial Intelligence and Programming Dr. Bader bin Dulaim Al-Fuhaid Al-Hajri
Doha, Qatar: The newly appointed President of the Arab Union for Artificial Intelligence and Programming Dr. Bader bin Dulaim Al-Fuhaid Al-Hajri has affirmed that advancing scientific research and fostering innovation will be at the forefront of the Union’s agenda, particularly in vital sectors such as healthcare, education, and energy.
The appointment was announced during an extraordinary Board of Directors meeting attended by representatives of member states. This step reflects the Union’s commitment to enhancing Arab integration in modern technological fields and supporting efforts to establish a unified regulatory framework for artificial intelligence.
In his statement, Dr. Bader Al-Hajri emphasised that the Union provides an institutional Arab platform to unify efforts among Arab countries in the fields of artificial intelligence and programming. He highlighted that the upcoming phase will focus on developing a comprehensive strategic vision, including training and research initiatives, programs to qualify Arab talent, and preparations to launch joint projects with Arab universities and research centres.
Dr. Al-Hajri further explained that the Union aims to contribute to the establishment of integrated Arab regulatory and legislative frameworks that address existing international gaps in AI governance, ensuring responsible and ethical use of these technologies while safeguarding cultural values and strategic interests of Arab countries.
Dr. Al-Hajri stressed that artificial intelligence has become a cornerstone of the global economy, and strengthening the Arab presence in shaping international policies and standards is no longer optional but necessary.
This approach aligns with Qatar’s strategic role in supporting innovation and digital transformation across the Arab world. Dr. Al-Hajri noted that the Union’s vision complements Qatar’s policies in attracting high-calibre Arab talent and highlighted that the country’s advanced infrastructure and investments in technology and AI provide a solid foundation to support the Union’s programs and regional initiatives.
