48 students attend DICID training course

With participation of 48 students from 20 high schools, Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) recently organised two-day training course for male and female students.
The training focused on concept of the interfaith dialogue presented for the group of boys by Dr Ahmed Abdulrahim, a researcher at the DICID.
Speaking on the occasion Abdulrahim said that dialogue is an indispensable genuine Islamic and humanitarian principle to achieve peace, co-existence and acceptance of the other. .
Differences are facts of life which we have to admit and deal with through dialogue. Dialogue helps build bridge between cultures and civilizations he added.
Fatima Al Harmi, specialist on planning and leadership presented paper on the steps towards building a positive and effective personality, in addition to creating relation focusing on the positive aspects of differences.
Al Harmi added that God created us male and female with different colours and shapes as differences are grace and blessing if we accepted as facts and nature of the life.
Dialogue is inevitable and necessary under the current global crisis and tensions said Al Harmi.   
‘Differences and common issues between faiths and importance of interfaith dialogue’ were another issues addressed by Dr. Badran Masoud Associated Professor of Sharia at Hamad bin Khalifa University in his presentation.  
“The aim to organise the workshop was to disseminate culture of dialogue, religious tolerance, peaceful co-existence between followers of different faiths and enhance respect and acceptance of others without exclusion of any,” said Nadia Al Ashqar, Coordinator of Conference Affairs at DICID.  
The center will further organise another training course for students from February 19 to 22 in collaboration with Qatar Debate, a member of Qatar Foundation, under the title “The Art of Dialogue and building Argument”.
