DOHA: Qatar Foundation (QF) is strengthening its collaboration with key national stakeholders to further embed sustainability across Qatar’s development plans, with ministries and national institutions joining forces to advance policies, projects, and community initiatives that align with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Leaders from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC), the Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF), and the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), along with other dignitaries have reaffirmed their commitment to working alongside QF on initiatives spanning biodiversity, urban resilience, education, heritage preservation, and climate adaptation.
This commitment was highlighted in the presence of Vice Chairperson of QF, H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani during a high-level reception hosted at Al Khater House in Education City to mark the first anniversary of the partnership between Qatar Foundation’s Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future and The King’s Foundation, on Wednesday.

Among the attendees was Minister of Environment and Climate Change, H E Dr. Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie who highlighted the ministry’s longstanding support for QF.
Al Subaie said, “The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change values Earthna and Qatar Foundation as key partners in advancing sustainability policy and knowledge. Together we have collaborated on initiatives such as the Earthna Summit and Qatar Sustainability Week, while jointly representing Qatar at major global platforms including COPs and international environmental forums.
“We are especially proud to see our joint mangrove restoration efforts as mangroves are both a vital symbol of Qatar’s biodiversity and a cornerstone of our heritage. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to embedding traditional knowledge into modern sustainability practices, and we look forward to continuing to build on this partnership to strengthen Qatar’s resilience and leadership in the green and blue economy.” Also in attendance was Minister of Social Development and Family, H E Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi who underscored Qatar’s priority of building resilient, sustainable urban environments aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
She said, “As our region faces rapid population growth and complex challenges related to infrastructure, housing, climate change, and environmental sustainability, we recognise the importance of long-term planning, innovation, and collaboration across governments, the private sector, and civil society.
“We are proud to partner with Qatar Foundation and to see sustainability, traditional knowledge, and heritage reflected in initiatives such as Earthna’s work, Herfah’s revival of crafts, and the symbolic preservation of Al Khater House. These efforts – alongside our close collaboration with QF’s Doha International Family Institute and QF’s Pre-University Education division – and our engagement in global platforms, reaffirm Qatar’s commitment to building inclusive, resilient, and future-ready cities for generations to come.”
QFFD Director-General Fahad Al-Sulaiti reiterated QFFD’s potential commitment to advancing sustainability programmes in partnership with Earthna and QF.
Al-Sulaiti said, “Qatar Fund For Development is proud to deepen its collaboration with Qatar Foundation and Earthna, working closely to advance sustainability programs that address climate and resilience.The four pilot projects that have resulted through the partnership with The King’s Foundation represent an exciting new model for sustainable investment that is locally relevant, contextual, and impactful, and we are eager to continue exploring ways to be an active partner in these initiatives.”
The event highlighted QF’s broader sustainability agenda, which integrates stewardship principles across education, research, and cultural preservation.
