5.4% monthly rise in general market index in November

Doha, Qatar: The general market index (points) witnessed 5.4 percent monthly increase in November last year. While a 3.8 percent month on month rise in total net tonnage of vessels was seen in November 2023 compared to October 2023.

The entertainment and culture recorded the highest monthly increase at 2.49 percent, as well as an increase in the value of traded shares at a monthly rate of 2.4 percent compared to October 2023. There was also an increase in issued cash by 0.2 percent compared to October 2023, Planning and Statistics Authority data has revealed.

The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increase from 2.891 million at November 2022 to 3.085 million at November 2023 at an annual rate of change of 6.7 percent, and decreased monthly by 0.01 percent (compared to October 2023).

Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2520 live births have been registered during November 2023. Also, a decrease in the total Qatari live births by 3 percent comparing to last month. On the other hand, 243 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 7.3 percent compared to October 2023.

As for the Social Security statements, reached QR77m in November 2023, for 14151 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly decrease of 1.8 percent for the value of social security and a monthly increase of 0.5 percent for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.

As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR717bn during November 2023, an annual increase of 1.9 percent compared with November2022. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for QR982bn during November 2023. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 2.4 percent compared to November2022, when deposits recorded approximately QR958bn.
