Doha: Visiting Bosher Olympic Centre, Oman (BOC) defeated hosts Barwa Cricket Club (BCC), Qatar in the Twenty20 under-15 series at the Al Khor Workers Sports Complex.
BOC won the keenly contested series 3-0.
“It was a wonderful series for some of the amazing young cricketing talent. It is just another feather in the cap for the boys from Bosher Olympic Centre (BOC), Oman, with close to four years of cricketing experience playing divisional cricket in Oman,” said Sandesh Dhuri, coach of the visiting Oman club, a former state level player from the Indian state of Goa.
“It was a huge leap for the promising young lads of Barwa Cricket Club (BCC), Qatar who have been training for less than 6 months,” said Christopher, an coach of Barwa CC.
In the first match of the series, BOC set a target of 166 with BCC failing short of the target. Shazeb Abrar Ashraf from BCC won the Man of the Match award for his stunning performance. He scored 46 runs from 32 balls pushing his team’s total when they needed it the most. In the second match of the series, BCC set a target of 123, which was successfully achieved by BOC in 17.2 overs.
Nararyana Satish from BOC won the man of the match award, for his unbeaten knock of 46 from 36 balls..
In the decider, BOC set a target of 156 for BCC, with the hosts fell short by 24 runs. Nimesh Dhuri from BOC won the man of the match awardfor scoring 32 runs and also for his excellent bowling spell.
The following prizes were awarded: Best Bowler of the Series was bagged by Nararyana Satish from BOC for his astounding bowling spells and 6 wickets. Best Batsman of the Series was Amaan Khan from BCC for his 83 runs and amazing half century.
