Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah with Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al Bashir and Turkey's Defence Minister Fikri Isik in Khartoum, Sudan, yesterday.
Khartoum: Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al Bashir met yesterday with Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah.
They discussed bilateral relations and issues of joint concern, in addition to prospects for future cooperation.
In a statement following the meeting, the Minister of State for Defence Affairs said that he conveyed the greetings of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces, to President Omar Hassan Al Bashir.
The Minister thanked President Bashir for the support given to reach advanced phases of the Soor Spinning and Weaving Factory, which was opened yesterday in partnership between Qatar, Sudan, and Turkey.
Sudanese Minister of Defence Lt Gen Awad Ibn Auf said that the Qatari Minister of State for Defence Affairs' meeting with President Bashir comes in the framework of partnerships between the two sides in all fields, especially in the industrial domain.
The Sudanese Defence Minister described the visit as a great success and said it would strengthen communications between the leaderships of both countries.
